Tin & Taco SODO
The Orlando food scene has come quite along way in the past 15 years I’ve lived here. Case in point – the tacos! While Tin & Taco isn’t my favorite taco place in town, it’s very good nonetheless, and a solid addition.
I had the Brisket Bomb taco and the Al Pastor carnitas taco on my last visit and both were good, but very rich. A surprise for me was the cheese fried onto the tortilla shell – it made for a nice, salty, crunchy texture that I liked, but overall didn’t think the tacos needed. Sometimes more is just more, and while some tacos on their menu probably benefit a lot by the cheesy, crunchy addition – and I’m guessing there are people who love Tin & Taco specifically for this feature – the two tacos I had made me crave a more tangy acidic contrast instead.
I also did the chips with all guac, queso, and salsa. All three good, the tortilla chips were especially nice because they were thin and not greasy, but nothing here either was a standout that made me yearn for more.
All-in-all, I really enjoyed my quick dinner and I assume I’ll go back. The staff was really friendly and service quick. But with all the great taco places popping up in Orlando, when a taco craving hits, Tin & Taco won’t be the first on my list.
